FIEBERNITZ, Melvin Gene - Age 87, of Flint, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Per his request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to the Old Newsboys of Flint, 6255 Taylor Dr. Flint, MI 48507.
Melvin was born November 23, 1934 in Flint, the son of Frederick and Lovie (Williston) Fiebernitz. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School and he received a Associates Degree from Baker Junior College. He married Nancy C. Gatenby February 23, 1957 at First Presbyterian Church in Flint and she preceded him in death June 20, 2003. He had resided in Flint his entire life. Melvin retired from Buick Motors after 37 years of service. He enjoyed boating and watching his grandchildren sporting events.
Surviving are: his children, Julie DeGroot of Flint and Brian (Laura) Fiebernitz of Hartland; grandchildren, Jeremy (Janifer) Brown of Flint, Melissa Brown of Flint, Mandi (Mike) DeGroot of Grand Rapids, Crystal McConnell of Ludington, Nick (Melissa) DeGroot of South Lyon, Andrew Fiebernitz of Hartland, Alexis Fiebernitz of Hartland, and Travis (Katie) Fiebernitz of Clarksville, GA; great grandchildren, Emma, Maverick, Joshua, Charlie, Theodore, Tanner, and Payton; sister, Beverly Limmer of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Balcomb; sister, Evelyn Bentley; and brothers, Stanley, Charles, Frederick II Fiebernitz, and Tyrus Fiebernitz. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
