Thomas George Henry was born March 16, 1940 in Rankin Michigan, son of Willis and Carletta Henry. He was a lifelong resident of Swartz Creek, and a graduate of Mary Crapo, Class of 1958.
Tom passed away peacefully on 9/07/2026. He married the love of his life, Sharen Utter on 4/18/1964. Tom worked at GM and the UAW as an International Servicing Representative retiring in 1994. He was a strong and loyal Union Man and served as Clayton Township Supervisor in the mid 90’s and was a devout Detroit Tigers fan.
Tom loved his family and for many years he was involved in bowling, golfing, softball, and coaching his son’s baseball teams. He treasured watching and cheering his grandkids on at their school and sporting events. Tom and Sharen enjoyed spending winters in Florida where they made many long-lasting friends and memories. Tom came from a very large and loving family. He leaves his wife of 62 years Sharen, 2 sons Scott (Lynn) and Todd (Jody), 6 Grandkids Jason (Holly), David (Kylie), Madisen (Logan Hull), Ryan, Skyler, Raegen and 2 Great Granddaughter’s, Sloane and Winnie. Brothers Bill (Doris), Don (Parna), Ted (Jennifer), Rick (Joan), Doug (Linda), and Randy (Tami). Sister in laws Roberta, Chris, and Therese along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Kim and Jim Anderson. Tom was proceeded in death by his parents Willis and Carletta, siblings Ella Mae - husband Don Halka, Earl, Bonnie - husband Dick Baker, Pat, Walt, Jack, and George, Father and Mother In Law Kenneth and Lucille Utter. Tom will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held 12-8pm Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
A private burial will take place.
