Brown, Jacqueline “Jackie” Jeanne of Flushing, age 94, died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Majestic Care in Flushing. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Ruth VanderSande will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Firday until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Jacqueline was born in Flint, Michigan on March 31, 1931, the daughter of Archie and Alta (Hall) Nicewenner. She married William F. Brown on March 15, 1950. They resided in Flushing for most of their lives. William preceded her in death on April 27, 2005. Jackie was a Charter Member of Rainbow Girls where she was a Past Worthy Advisor and Past Mother Advisor. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and Life Member of Clio Order of Eastern Star. Jackie was the Past Secretary of Flushing Sportsman Club and member of Michigan United Conservation Club. She retired from Hudson’s. Jackie enjoyed and was an active toll painter and was a talented quilter.
Jackie is survived by her sons, Bill Jr. (Lynn) Brown, Scot Brown; son-in-law, Mark Szmigiel; grandchildren, Bill, III (Lauren) Brown, Chris (Autumn) Brown, Eric (Lauren) Hernandez, Jenna (Spencer) Arnould, Clayton Brown, Logan (Jessica) Brown; eight great-grandchildren; niece, Carol O’Dette; and nephews, Gary, Dale, and Dennis Hagenbuch. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Kimberly Brown-Szmigiel; her parents; and sister, Virginia Hagenbuch.
