CARLISLE, Joyce Ann (Monroe) – age 70 of Mt. Morris, MI passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 1PM-8PM at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11AM West Flint Church of the Nazarene – 2254 S. Dye Rd. Flint, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Matt Soulia officiating. Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, MI. Joyce was born on February 7, 1946 in Flint, MI to the late Carrol and Goldie (Wilson) Monroe. She married John Carlisle in Beecher, MI on March 24, 1979. Joyce worked at General Motors for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of West Flint Church of the Nazarene and dedicated a great portion of her time to one of the church’s mission programs called Little Lamb’s Closet. Joyce enjoyed reading and her dogs; however, her grandchildren were top priority. She never missed a single one of their many sporting events and was always there on the sidelines cheering them on. Joyce was a generous and selfless person who always displayed her nature of being an endless giver. In fact, she would give anything to anybody no matter what is was. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a huge heart. Surviving are her husband, John Carlisle; children, Sid Carlisle, John (Melissa) Carlisle Jr., and Michael (Nicole) Carlisle; grandchildren, Kyle (Valerie), Eric (Madison), Brixton, Lochlan, Kinsman, and Miralette; sister, Goldie Perkins, and many other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Warren Monroe; and baby sister, Sherry Denton. Contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to West Flint Church of the Nazarene Mission Fund.
