Robert Thomas Harris, 70, of Burton, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 4, 2025. “Bob” was born February 3, 1955 in Amherst, Nova Scotia to parents Walter and Anne (Hanson) Harris, Jr.
He grew up in Lapeer also spending many summers in Grand Haven. He graduated Lapeer High School Class of 1973. Bob worked for the State of Michigan at the former Oakdale Center, Lapeer then transferred into DHS to finish out his career. Sailing with his brother, Bill, was one of his fondest pastimes. Bob also loved vacations and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter: Jami Beggs, brother: Bill Harris, grandchildren: Shayne Beggs; Jayla Beggs and Raelynn Harris, great-grandchildren: Benjamin; Owyn; Adam and Jett as well as many nieces; nephew; cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Joe; Jimmy and John Harris as well as his aforementioned parents.
Bob’s visitation will be 11:00AM-12:00PM Monday September 8, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. His funeral will immediately follow, 12:00PM Monday at Muirs. Followed by burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer.
