Holzwarth, Anna, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of her family on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Woodhaven Senior Community.
Per her request, cremation has taken place and she will be joined with Robert at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. A liturgy at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, where she had been a lifelong member, will be held at a later time.
Anna was born on October 17, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late Stephen and Anna (Andrykovich) Veselenak. She graduated from Northern High School in 1947. She then worked at Bell Telephone for a few years before meeting and marrying Robert J. Holzwarth on November 4, 1950. Together they raised 4 children. Along with her homemaker job, she also worked for Chevrolet in downtown Flint, working as one of the first women on the line. She cherished baking her traditional goods for her family, along with her many fellow church friends, every year during the holidays. Anna traveled some and loved playing her favorite sport, golf. She enjoyed watching the tournaments on TV, as well as, her favorite game show channel. She always looked forward to a good game of bingo and a trip to the casino.
Anna is survived by her 4 children, Barbara (Mike) Siwek of Tawas City, Robin (Teresa) Holzwarth of Flushing, Keith (Joanne) Holzwarth of Grand Blanc and Ellen (Tim) St Aubin of Tawas City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Mary Donaldson and brothers, Stephen Veselenak, John Veselenak and Joseph Veselenak.
Anna will be remembered by her quiet strength, her devotion to her church and family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever held in God’s embrace and our memories. |
