MARZONIE, Michael W – of Burton, MI - age 80, passed away on January 4, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc, MI. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of Service on Wednesday.
Michael was born in Flint, MI on April 29, 1941 son of the late John and Helen (Dowdall) Marzonie. He married Christie LaBeau in November of 1991; she preceded him in death in 2004. Michael resided in Flint all of his life. He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1959 and excelled in sports. He was unanimously named to the 1st Team All County Basketball Team. Michael was employed at Chevrolet Motor Plant and held several management positions. He retired in 1995 with 35 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed his family, traveling, and spending the winters at his home in Port Orange, Florida. Michael enjoyed all sports, especially NCAA Football and Basketball. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. Michael always looked forward to spending time at the cabin in Michigan’s U.P., especially during the bear hunting seasons. He was a member of the Elks 2723 in Port Orange, FL and the Eagles Aerie # 2588 of East Tawas, Michigan.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Susan (Roy) Little of Columbiaville, MI; son, Michael Marzonie II of Davison; grandchildren, Marisa, Sara, Brittini, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Reid, Emory, and Abygayle; brothers, Jack and Joe of Flint, Ron of Florida; sisters, Pat Owens, Ginny Berry of Flint; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christie; parents, John and Helen; sister, Mary (Ron) Gocha of Burton in 2019 and brother-in-law, Vaughn Owens.
Michael’s strength, wit and wisdom will be missed by all who knew him.
