DENAM, William Lee – Of Grand Blanc, age 86, died Monday, June 3, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital, with his beloved family at his side.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Don Embury officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to VFW Post 822.
Visitation 4-8 P.M. Thursday, June 6, 2019 and 12 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A lifelong resident of Grand Blanc, Michigan, he was born September 21, 1932 in Kennett, Missouri to Vera Cartright Denam and Harvey Denam.
Bill is survived by his wife Ruby (Delduca) Denam, children William, Jr. (Regina Trainor), Kathryn Brundle (Robert), son Robert (Sandy), step-daughter Jeri Lynn Scrimger (Michael), eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Harvey and Richard, and sisters Doris Sheridan(Joe) and Sandy Ramiller.
He attended Life Church in Burton.
Mr. Denam proudly served in Korea where he was wounded in battle. He was a welder by trade and retired from General Motors. He loved to fish and hunt with family and friends. He was a DAV, was a multiple time commander of VFW post 822, and was a past Worshipful Master with the Flint Masons.
He was also active with Shriner’s Children’s Hospital assisting with patient transportation.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends, who know he is at peace in the presence of his Savior and Lord.
