SHAKER, CATHERINE- Of Swartz Creek, age 78, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, January 30, 2026 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held from 2-7pm Thursday, January 29, 2026 and Friday 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Stephen & Paul Shaker Hemophilia/AIDS Fund through the Hurley Foundation.
Catherine was born in Flint, Michigan on August 4, 1947, the daughter of the late Phillip and Norma (Allen) Shaker. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School Class of 1965. Catherine will be remembered as an “Earth Mom” because of her compassion and devotion to her family and friends.
She was a founding member and served on the board of directors of the Stephen & Paul Shaker Hemophilia/AIDS Fund through the Hurley Foundation.
Catherine is survived by her sisters Janet (Glenn) Cook, Diane Atkerson and Rosemarie (Rowil) David;
Brothers Michael (Sandy) Shaker, Phillip J. Shaker and Anthony Shaker;
Special friend and companion David Clemente and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,2 brothers Stephen and Paul Shaker, niece, Michele Forsyth, 2 nephews Daniel Cook and James Atkerson, and special friend Mary Trevithick.
