VEAL, Alice M. - of Clio, age 90, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Maple Woods Manor of Clio. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, March 23, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2PM until 8PM and Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Alice was born January 1, 1928 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Joe and Alice Ruth (Chappell) Callender. She married J.D. Veal on May 27, 1946. He preceded her in death February 23, 2004. Alice was employed with AC for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. Alice enjoyed bible study, cooking, singing, and watching sports - especially basketball. She was a jack of all trades when it came to raising her family and children. Alice was compassionate and always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone. She lived her life to the fullest and always went by her motto: Anything you can put your mind to, you can do it.
Surviving are: Sons: Ronald Veal Sr., and Christopher (Shawn) Veal Sr.; Grandchildren: Ronald Veal Jr., Patricia Veal (John Ellis), Michael Veal (Heather Toporek), Christopher Veal Jr. (Rachel Defer), and Gabrielle Veal; Great grandchildren: Matthew, Jesse, Kensleigh, Shelby, Kellie, John, Kaylee, Hailey, Carson, and James; Brother, Joseph (Alice) Callender; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Alice was also preceded in death by: Brother, Kenneth Callender; Sister, Ruth Howell, and Daughter In law, Patricia Veal.
