Clarence Edwin Johnson Jr. of Lapeer, Michigan, passed at the age of 72 on August 31st, 2026, at Regency Nursing Home in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Visitation and Services will be held at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507-4735. Visitation will be Thursday, September 3rd from 1-8pm. Visitation is Friday September 4th at 11am followed by a Memorial Service at 12pm.
“Chuck” was born on February 28, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence Edwin Johnson Sr. and Grace Marie Johnson (Baker). Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shelly Johnson, whom he married in June 2002.
Chuck served in the United States Navy from 1972-1975. After 30+ years working for GM, including time at Buick City and the Lake Orion plant, he retired. He was an avid bowler and golfer who loved to participate in leagues for both sports. He also enjoyed cribbage, playing cards, and country music. He was rarely spotted in public without a cowboy hat. As a lifelong animal lover, he was devoted to his spoiled chihuahua, Cha Cha.
Chuck is survived by his two children, Justin Johnson and Jendria Johnson, and his three sisters; Judy Vivier (John), Joyce Audia (Ben) and Jean Bryant, as well as many nieces and nephews. Chuck is also survived by his dear friends Christiaan and Chloe Blatt, who have lived and farmed on his property for close to a decade.
