GARDNER, Robert F. (Bob) – Of Flushing, age 76 died at Hyde Park Memory Care.
Robert was born and raised in Flint, Michigan on October 24, 1941, the son of Floyd N. and Mary E. (Lowes) Gardner.
He graduated from Flint Central High School, Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Michigan and received a BSME Degree. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
On December 15, 1964 Bob married Agnes Kiesekamp and they celebrated 52 years of marriage this past December. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2017.
Bob and Agnes lived in the Flushing area and raised their family there, while Bob worked for GM as an Engineer/Manager retiring with 35+ years of service.
Bob was a past President of the Retired Men’s Fellowship of Greater Flint, leader of the Buick Product Engineering Retirees Club and a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). He was also a member of the Buick Town Chapter of the BCA, the Reatta Division of the BCA, the Buick Salaried Retirees Club, the Flushing Historical Society and a member and Board Member of the Flushing Area Senior Center.
Surviving family members are son, Kevin (wife Diana) of Davisburg;
daughter, Kathleen (husband Jon) Roberts of Grand Ledge and
son, Keith (wife Janice) of Flushing;
4 grandchildren, Scott and Katelyn Roberts, Andrew and Guiliana Gardner;
also surviving is a sister, Shirley (husband Dick) Miller of Grand Blanc.
Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions be made to Leader Dog of Rochester, MI, or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
