Raleigh was born on August 26, 1950, in West Branch, Michigan, the son of the late Nelson and Edith (Adams) Ostrander.

To know Raleigh was to love him—he brought light into every room he entered.

Raleigh graduated from Whittemore-Prescott High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he worked on KC-135 aircraft until his honorable discharge in October 1974.

After leaving the Air Force, Raleigh began a long and dedicated career with General Motors in Flint, Michigan, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.

Raleigh greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite pastimes included golfing, hunting, and racing. During his retirement, he was actively involved in several golf leagues at Vienna Greens Golf Club.

Hunting was a passion Raleigh enjoyed from a young age. Each year, he eagerly anticipated the annual Calcutta at Ostrander Deer Hunting Camp. While he cherished the camaraderie, he was always hoping to come out on top and shoot the biggest buck.

Raleigh also shared a lifelong passion for racing with his brother, Ryan. Together, Ostrander Racing traveled to numerous racetracks, winning hundreds of races and multiple championships. Even after Ryan retired from racing, the two continued to spend time together attending races and enjoying the sport they loved.

Raleigh is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children, Brent Ostrander, John Eller, David (Monica) Eller, Alex Tippen, and Allie Tippen; and his beloved grandchildren, Ariana Eller, Matthew Eller, David Eller, and Trapper Tippen. He is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Hill-Lloyd, Connie (Rudy) Bielby, Richard (Sondra) Ostrander, Teresa Noel, Dianna (Roger) Britt, and Ryan (Crystal) Ostrander, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Edith Ostrander, and his stepmother, Marie Ostrander.

Raleigh touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
