VANOVER, Ida G. – of Clio, age 97, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, December 12, 2011at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Frank Yount officiating. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 5-8PM and on Monday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to Victory Tabernacle.
Ida was born June 21, 1914 in Erwin, TN to the late Oscar and Maude (Day) Miller and was a resident of Clio since 1961. She married Charlie Vanover on June 24, 1934 in Erwin, TN. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2000. Ida was a member of Victory Tabernacle and was very active in the church. She was a seamstress and a wonderful cook.
Surviving are: 3 children, Vernon (Janet) Vanover of Clio, Geraldine (Tom) Schuch of Burton, Lee (Janyce) Vanover of TN; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Verline Lewis, Louise Pate, Hazel Tittle, Mae Shell, Sara Shell, all of Erwin, TN; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Wilma Storm; grandson, Keith McCurry; 2 brothers, Harvey Miller and Paul Miller; 2 sisters, Juanita Shell and Belle Franklin.
