SUTHERLAND, Harry Donald and Carrie June (McArthur) - of Davison, MI, ages 84 and 86, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 and Tuesday, December 8, 2020. A Private Visitation will take place at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423, with cremation to follow. Inurnment in Dawn Memorial Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research, in Harry and Carrie’s memory.
Harry was born in Flint, MI on January 22, 1936, son of the late George and Mary Louise (Harmon) Sutherland. He married Carrie June McArthur on February 2, 1954. Carrie passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Harry retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, camping, reading and spending time outdoors.
Carrie was born in Flint, MI on August 2, 1934, daughter of the late Earl and Mae (Collins) McArthur. She married Harry Sutherland on February 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Monday, December 7, 2020. Carrie retired from her brother, Dr. Earl McArthur’s dentist office. She enjoyed Bingo, casino trips and hunting.
Harry and Carrie are survived by 5 children, Deborah Calkins, Susan (Vince) Harper, Denise Livingston, Robert (Janet) Sutherland and Mike Sutherland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Carrie’s 2 brothers, Robert McArthur and Earl (Barb) McArthur; many other loving family members and friends. They were preceded in death by their parents, Earl and Mae McArthur and George and Mary Louise Sutherland.
