MCARTHUR, Russell Harvey, Sr. – of Davison, age 79, passed away September 26, 2015 at his home under Heartland Hospice, surrounded by his family. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Dawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday from 12-8PM. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Russell was born on November 18, 1935 son of the late, Earl and Mae (Collins) McArthur. He married Marilyn Raymond on June 4, 1955 in Davison. They had just celebrated 60 years together! Russell enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and gardening. He also was an avid euchre player but most of all loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Russell retired from GM after 30 years of service.
Russell is survived by his wife, Marilyn McArthur; children, Russell H. McArthur, Jr. of Davison, Treasa Blasdell of North Carolina, Dennis (Elaine) McArthur of Caro, MI, James (Janet) McArthur of Burton, MI; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Earl McArthur, Robert McArthur; sister, Carrie Sutherland. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy; sisters, Noreen, Helen, Edna; brothers, Ernest and Harry. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Russ.
