Herbert Curtis Marme Age 68
Resident of Melbourne, FLorida, formerly of Flint, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 1 at home.
Born on January 9, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to Herbert and Marion Marme. Curt graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1965, and then fulfilled his dream of joining the United States Marine Corps in 1966. Proudly serving his country for 4 years, including 2 tours in Vietnam. While home on leave in Oct. 1968 he met the love of his life Kathleen May Reid and proceeded to marry on Jan. 18, 1969. They went on to have three children and were each others best friend until the end. After leaving the service, Curt work for AT&T (Michigan Bell) from which he retired.
In his leisure time, Curt enjoyed coaching his sons sports teams. This included soccer, basketball, and baseball, as well as being the AYSO Commissioner.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Marion. Surviving are wife Kathleen; daughter Makell (Jeff) Allender; son Michael (Bonni) Marme; son Wesley (Kimberly) Marme; grandchildren Britanie, Taylor, and Megan; and 1 great-grandson Wyatt; brothers George (Debbie) and Steve (Pam) Marme; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Curt will be most remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and generous spirit.
Curt will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery at Holly, Michigan. A memorial service and celebration of life will take place in Michigan, at a later date. Donations may be made to Toys For Tots.
