James "Jim" Edward Spinney (1937-2026)
James Spinney passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026 in Flint, MI where he was born on May 28th 1937.
Jim is survived by his sister Linda, wife Judy (Socier) of 53 years, and three sons: Jeff, Jerry, Joe. He lived most of his life in mid-Michigan, but spent time post-retirement in FL, AZ, and southern CA before returning to Flint, MI in September 2025.
A tinsmith by trade, Jim retired from GM in the Flint area at 65. He also operated a side business of heating and A/C which he learned from his father Allan. Additionally, he served approximately 14yrs on the Flushing Fire Dept retiring in 1974 as a Lieutenant.
Jim was known for his kindness and handiness which he described as "jack of all trades, master of none". He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and home improvement either on his own home or helping others.
