CORMIER, Joanne M.- age 93, of Fenton, passed away on October 14, 2026. Her Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Deacon Ron Kenney Officiating. Visitation 11:00 AM Tuesday until the time of Service. Committal Service 1:30 PM Tuesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Joanne's memory would be appreciated to The Dementia Society of America.
Joanne was born March 12, 1933, in Flint, the daughter of Roy Lester and Vera A. (Walworth) Armstrong. She married Jerry Cormier in Flint on May 2, 1953. Joanne graduated from Flint Central High School. She was employed as a Personal Secretary with McDonald Dairy in Flint. Joanne was a talented at home seamstress and was a member of the Bishop Sewing Class which helped support new mothers of children in need. She was a long time member of The Lake Fenton United Methodist Church and Woman's Auxiliary. Joanne enjoyed spending summers at Fife Lake and wintering in Florida. Joanne's greatest passion was her grandchildren! She truly cherished spending time with her family.
Joanne is survived by her son, Mark (Sheri) Cormier; and her daughter, Jill (Matt) Remillard; grandchildren Renae (Josh) Deshaw, Brina ( Rob) Anderson, Eric (Jess Eastman) Remillard, Kristyn (Alex Friedman) Cormier, and Carley (Richard) Taft; great grandchildren, Daxton and Jett Deshaw, and Rylee Taft.
