STAFFORD, Bobby Wayne – of Flint, MI, age 75, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 3, 2020 due to prostate cancer. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Jason Crum officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Davison Missionary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church, in Bob’s memory.
Bobby was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on July 3, 1945, son of the late Rosevelt Stafford and Mary E. (Giles) Geesey. He married Bobbie Lou Mooring on August 28, 1971. Bob retired from General Motors after 31 years of service. After retirement, Bob taught adult education at Mott Adult High School in Flint, Michigan, H.W. Byers High School in Holly Springs, Mississippi and at Liberty High School in Mountain View, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bobbie Stafford; daughter, Cynthia Manthey; 2 sons, Scott Stafford and Lonnie Stafford; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Widmeyer-Stafford, Emily Stafford, Brandon Stafford, Christian Stafford and Gabby Stafford; canine companion, Holly; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosevelt Stafford and Mary E. Geesey; granddaughter, Alexis Manthey; son-in-law, David Manthey; 2 brothers, Roy Stafford and James Liverett; grandparents, Lonnie “Clifford” and Nillie Giles; parents-in-law, Sam and Peggy Mooring.
