DAY, David Alan - Age 70, Of Nokomis, Florida, formerly of Flushing. Al’s sunrise was on March 18, 1947 and his sunset was on February 11, 2018 in Nokomis, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Those desiring may make contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America, www.pva.org.
Visitation 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the service.
He spent two years in the Army and was a Vietnam Combat veteran.
He recently celebrated 28 years of marriage to his wife, Sue.
Al was employed by AC Spark Plug for 34 years and was a member of UAW Local #651.
He enjoyed boating, golfing and teaching his family how to ski, hunt along with other various hobbies. His favorite times were with his family at their cabin at Beaver Lake.
Surviving are wife, Sue;
son, Chad;
daughter, Dayna (Igor) Yankovich;
sister, Susan Day;
grandchildren, Alex and Grace Yankovich.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Natalie; parents, Ken and Ruth Day; three brothers, Denny, Mike and Jim.
