Peggy Sue Smith
July 30, 1948 – December 18, 2025
Peggy Sue Smith, age 77, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 18, 2025, surrounded by love and leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born on July 30, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, She graduated from Southwestern High School and carried her warmth, resilience, and caring spirit with her throughout her life.
On June 21, 1986, Peggy married the love of her life, Richard Allen Smith (Smitty). Their marriage was one of true partnership, built on devotion, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. When they retired, they followed their hearts to Tawas, Michigan, where they built a home deep in the woods—a peaceful sanctuary that reflected Peggy and Smitty’s gentle soul and love for nature. It was there that she found comfort, and joy.
Peggy had a beautifully creative heart. She found happiness in dancing, knitting, baking, decorating, crafting, and gardening, always pouring love into everything she made. Her home was a reflection of who she was—warm, welcoming, and filled with care. She also enjoyed time at the casino and took pride in being a member of the Tawas Eagles Pool League, where friendships were formed and laughter was shared.
Above all else, Peggy lived for her family. Time spent with loved ones meant everything to her, and her greatest joy came from her only son, and grandchildren. They were her pride, her happiness, and her heart. Her love for them was deep, steady, and unconditional—a love that will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Allen Smith; her parents, Georgia Crank and Aldon Crank; and her grandparents, Virginia Lewis and Roy Lewis, all of whom she held close in her heart.
She is survived by her devoted son, Walter Kenneth Callard, and her precious grandchildren, Makenzi Alyssa Sue Callard and Kamron Allen Callard, who will forever carry her love, kindness, and gentle spirit within them.
Peggy will be remembered for her loving heart, her creative soul, and her vibrant personality. Though she is no longer physically with us, her love remains—woven into memories, family traditions, and the lives she touched so deeply.
The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to The Care Team of Grand Blanc, Michigan, for the compassionate and loving care they provided Peggy during her time on hospice.
She will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan. |
