Barrett, Ellen of Flushing, age 63, died Monday, November 9, 2015, at Henry Ford Hospital-Detroit. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Flushing. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Ellen was born in Flint, Michigan on November 1, 1952, the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Wright) Klammer. She was a graduate of Flushing High School, Class of 1971, where she was active in the choral program. Ellen attended Spring Arbor College to study Health Care Administration and was employed by Hurley Medical Center for over 30 years. She worked in the pharmacy department and was in charge of purchasing medications and related supplies for the entire hospital. Ellen loved animals and frequently fed the neighborhood wildlife from her back porch.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel and husband Clarence Winkfield; mother, Margaret Klammer; brother, Mark and wife Sarah Carleton of Hammondsport, NY; aunts, Nora Jones and her daughter, Margo Maier of POrt Huron, Pat and husband Rev. Warren Kimbell of Sarnia; and several cousins living in Canada. |
