STEVENS, Peggy Helen - Of Fenton, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. She had an illness (pneumonia) which claimed her life in less than a week.
Memorial service will be held 3pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 12 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Cremation has taken place.

Peggy was born in Flint on September 16, 1924. Peggy had a very sharp mind even to the end of her life. She was always a good listener. She valued being a good friend to others. Peggy was always polite to people, saying “thank you” to people who helped her. The priority in her life was her children who loved her very much. Peggy always called them on their birthday to sing “Happy Birthday” to them. On October 12, 1946, she married Richard Stevens at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Flint. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2004. Peggy enjoyed exercise and physical therapy classes often leading the class. She loved to go to lunch and was a good cook. Peggy followed the Detroit Tigers and golf on television. Most important, Peggy was very spiritual and valued God, always saying her prayers. She attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Flint for many years and continued to read the Daily Word Magazine on a regular basis.
Surviving are sons, Richard and wife Gail, Jeffery and wife Trish and Chris and wife Jodie;
grandchildren, Victoria, Nahomie and Ellie.
The family wishes to thank Crestmont Nursing Care Center-Fenton, the doctors and nurses at Genesys Regional Medical Center-3rd Floor Pulmonary ICU Unit, Dr. Vakharia, and special friends Betty and Georgia.
Peggy was preceded in death by siblings, Wilbur, Vance and Leota Swatosh and mother, Minnie Thomson.
