WALKER, Lila Ruth (Bell) – of Flint, MI, age 91, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at West Court Street Church of God, 2920 West Court Street, Flint, MI 48503; Rev. Brad Walker officiating, dinner to follow. Inurnment in Great Lakes National Cemetery on a later date. The family will receive visitors 10-11 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at West Court Street Church of God. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Court Street Church of God, 2920 West Court Street, Flint, MI 48502 or Living Grace Church, PO Box 948, Davison, MI 48423, in Ruth’s memory.
Ruth was born in Flint, MI on September 28, 1929, daughter of the late William Acheson and Lillie Mae (Fulgham) Bell. She married Milton A. Walker on August 20, 1946, in Grandview, Washington and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2013. Ruth was a member of Living Grace Church and a former member of West Court Street Church of God. She was an accomplished negative re-toucher, did oil colorizations, cake decorating and loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. Ruth was gifted at crocheting items for friends and family members.
Ruth is survived by two children, Steven (Tiffany) Walker and Brad (Chris) Walker; three grandchildren, Alycia (Andy) Dolan, Daven (Kristen) Walker and Stefani (Björn) Odendal; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Acheson and Lillie Mae Bell; husband, Milton A. Walker; three sisters and two brothers.
