Sheila Cummings Welch, age 67, passed away on December 23, 2021 in Bay City, Michigan. Sheila was born on September 4, 1954 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sheila met the love of her life, Don Welch, 12 years ago. Those 12 years were the happiest years of her life. Sheila loved to read and travel the country with her husband, Don. Sheila was a proud member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association, a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and the St. Mark Catholic Women’s Charity. Sheila was an educator for over 20 years. She taught special education for most of her career, and she spent time as a director of special education. Most of all, Sheila loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She never turned down a moment or opportunity to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Sheila was an amazing woman and mother, and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Donald Welch; children: Jennifer (Jerry) Melendez, Michelle (Tony) Zott, Jamie (Mario) Pulido, Gerald (Katie) Cummings, Jimmy Cummings, Jr., Danielle (Scott) Hudson, Tom Welch; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings Monique (Bill) Robinson, Mike (Michelle) Mayer, Cynthia (Greg) Richmond, Debbie Hull, Tammy Marasco; and mother, Betty Mayer. She is preceded in death by her fathers; Gerald Hale and Rene Mayer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 1-8 pm at Hill Funeral Home- 11723. S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11 am, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service at St. Mark Catholic Church - 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Interment will follow at Goodrich Cemetery. |
