HENDERSHOTT, Maurine Joan (Medlyn) – of Burton, MI, age 91, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 South Genesee Road, Burton, MI 48519; Pastor Mark Matheny officiating. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, in Maurine’s memory.
Maurine was born in Flint, MI on October 24, 1934, daughter of the late Leslie and Lillian (Parson) Medlyn. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and a woman whose determination and resourcefulness knew no bounds. Gifted with an incredible do-it-yourself spirit, Maurine could tackle almost any project, from roofing and flooring to countless repairs and improvements around the home. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially taking golf cart rides to feed the deer and spending cherished time with her family at Higgins Lake. Above all, Maurine treasured the moments shared with those she loved, creating lasting memories through her kindness, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family. Her strength, independence, and loving presence will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Maurine is survived by 3 children, Susan Conley, Sarah Harvey and Catherine Adkins; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Donald) Curtis, Tina Leadmon, Tammy Leadmon and Angela Ebacher; 7 great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Guess Jr., Christopher Seabrooks, Lucas Seabrooks, Matthew Curtis, Joshua Rodgers, Jeremy Rodgers and Alivia Simms; sister, Elaine Woods; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lillian Medlyn; husband, George Hendershott; 2 sons, George Hendershott Jr. and Matthew Hendershott; 2 siblings, Janeann Snell and Robert L. Medlyn.
