Dr. Blair Gregory Munns of Davison age 87 died Thursday September 3, 2020 at the Cottages of Davison. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday September 9, 2020 at Davison United Methodist Church 207 E. Third St. Davison. Rev. BoRin Cho officiating. Private burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Family will receive visitors from 3:00 – 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to CDC Guidelines social distancing and limited amount of visitors at one time will be followed. The family understands that you may or may not want to join them at this time and respect your decision. Dr. Munns will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Wednesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Blair’s memory to the City of Davison Jack Abernathy Park.
Blair was born in Detroit Michigan on March 11, 1933 the only child of Dr. Harry & Ethel (Montcriff) Munns and has resided in the Davison area since 1959. Blair was a graduate of Cooley High School and the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry, and it was during this time he meet his wife. He was joined in marriage to Anne M. Zankl on June 30, 1957 and she preceded him in death on May 9, 2020. Answering the call of his country he proudly served as a Captain in the US Army Dental Corp in Nuremburg Germany. In 1959 Blair and his wife Anne opened and operated their Dental Practice for forty-five years in the Davison Community.
Professionally Blair was a member of Genesee County Dental association, Lapeer Study Club and the American Dental Association. He was a charter member of the Davison Country Club, and Past President of the Davison Kiwanis Club. He severed as a Supervisor for the Flint Junior Golf Program and an active member of the Flint Tennis Club. He was a strong believer in volunteering and giving back to the community and after retirement spent numerous hours gardening at Jack Abernathy Park, Davison Country Club and the Church Memory Gardens. He was a member of the Davison United Methodist Church.
Surviving is sons: Paul and wife Janet Munns, and Jim Munns. He also leaves his grandchildren: Britney and husband Austin Thrasher, Hannah Munns, Jonathan and wife Abbey Munns, and his great grandchildren, Jentry, Ellie, and Keelan. Also surviving is brother-in-law Bob Zunkl and a host of extended family and friends. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
