McNAMARA, Robert Russell Sr. - Age 75, of Grand Blanc formerly of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Robert's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Abe Garcia and Chaplain Dennis McNamara officiating. Burial in The New St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bay City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 5-8 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children Research Center or to the family.
Robert was born October 31, 1948 in Flint, the son of Roy R. and Dolores L. (Simons) McNamara. He was a 1966 graduate of Hamady High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He had resided in Grand Blanc for the past two year coming from Bay City. He married Susan Jean Rezler March 23, 2005. Robert retired from GM AC Spark Plug in Flint. He was an avid pool player, hunter and he was Master in the Martial Arts.
Surviving are: his wife, Susan; children, Theresa McNamara of Flint Township, Robert McNamara, Jr. of Flint Township, James McNamara of Grand Blanc, Lesa McNamara of Burt, Charity (Chris) Cheek of Montrose, Kelly McNamara of Flint, Krysten Ohlsson of Davison, Kassandra (Ian) Lake of Ann Arbor, Molly (Clarence) Pearson of Bay City, Jonathan Capp of Bay City and Melissa Capp (Jack Brown) of Ann Arbor; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Hilda) McNamara of Flushing and Mark (Connie) McNamara of Benzonia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Catherine Jasper; grandson, Robert McNamara III; brothers, Matthew and Dale McNamara. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
