Richard Claude Wright
Age 85 of Corunna passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and beloved dog Roxie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Nelson-House Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hawkins cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4 pm to 8pm. The family would like to invite friends, neighbors, and family to a celebration of life meal in remembrance of Dick at the family farm.
Richard was born on February 20, 1940, in Owosso, Michigan, the son of Ray and Agatha (Wrigglesworth) Wright.
A proud graduate of Corunna High School, Class of 1958, Richard dedicated his life to the agricultural community as both a dairy and crop farmer.
His passion for farming went hand in hand with his love for the outdoors. He created a legacy through his love of country, family, and the land he devoted his life to. He was a pillar of strength behind his rough edges and loved his family. He actively supported his children and grandchildren with their 4-H and FFA projects for several years. He was active in local organizations, including the Dog & Gun Club and DHIA. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his beloved family and dogs.
He was a warrior of a man who pushed through several obstacles in his life. His strength and hard work ethic will always be remembered.
On December 3, 1960, he married Charlene Helen (Serviss) Wright at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Corunna. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love, laughter, and hard work.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Charlene; children, Kimberly (John) Konopka, Amy (Rickie) Wilson, Laura (Andy) Szakal, and Son in law Joe Szakal; grandchildren, Erin Bernard, Taylor Kendall, Ashley Edmundson, Sydney Barnett, Danielle Lockwood, Joshua Szakal, Dylan Szakal, and Cole Szakal; and 12 great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by Roxie his beloved dog.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Agatha Wright. Son Stephen Wright, Brother Gerald Wright.
The family would like to extend a thanks to the help and support of neighbors and friends over the last several years through illnesses.
