Blanche was born in Mound City, Illinois on June 9, 1925, the daughter of the late John and Neva Barnbrook.

Blanche lived a remarkable century of life defined by faith, family, service and grace. She was married to her beloved husband James M. Greer Sr. for 45 years until his passing in 1988, sharing a life of love and devotion.

She was a dedicated mother to her 2 children, James Jr and Cheryl. She was the very best “Meme” to her grandchildren, great and great/great grandchildren, all of whom were the joy to her life.

For more than 25 years, Blanche worked at GM as an executive secretary where she was admired for her strong work ethic and dedication. Her sense of responsibility showed in every aspect of her life. As a woman of deep faith, Blanche remained devoted to her Presbyterian Church family under the leadership of Reverend Hal Polk. She faithfully walked alongside them through times of transition and growth and eventually found her final place of worship at Grace Presbyterian Church in Davison. Her love for God guided how she lived, served, and cared for others. She so loved her family and holidays surrounded by family, cherishing traditions and time spent together. Blanche was an amazing cook, and her Sunday dinners were legendary family events- no one liked to miss them. There were often extra people also invited to her table and she made them feel welcome.

Blanche always maintained a busy, active schedule. She loved people and social gatherings. She was a member of El Said Court #28 (Ladies Shriners) for over 50 years, even obtaining the role as High Priestess in the late 1980’s. She also participated in many other social functions and events. Service to others was important to her and she gave her time freely and whole-heartedly. Her home was always meticulous, reflecting the pride she took in her surroundings and herself. Blanche believed in proper manners, respect, and carrying oneself with dignity. These were lessons she passed along quietly by example. At the same time, she loved to have fun and was known for never complaining about anything.

In her final months, Blanche received the loving care she needed at Angel Manor, alongside her family. She was loved by the staff and others in the residence and treated as family. The comfort and kindness shown to Blanche was a blessing to her family. Blanche will always be remembered for her sweet demeanor, generous heart, unwavering heart, and beautiful smile. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, hospitality, and grace will live on through the generations she touched. Her life was so beautifully lived, and she will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her son James (Sue) Greer; son-in-law Bud Nolff; grandchildren Tina (Mark) Hobeck, Dennis, Stacey (Mike) Lanctot, John, Christopher (Carri) Greer, Bethany (Ron) Bellmer and Rebecca (Bret) Borton;
Many great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James and daughter Cheryl Nolff.
