GARETY, Michael Joseph – of Flint, age 56, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in Michael’s memory.
Michael was born in Lapeer, MI on June 23, 1969, son of Gerald and Carol (Foltanovich) Garety. He married Lisa Brasseur on June 9, 2012. Michael was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He loved animals dearly, having 5 dogs and 10 cats. Michael loved listening to 80’s hair band music.
Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Lisa; children, Nick and Chris Garety, Jason Brasseur; father, Gerald; siblings, Tim (Julianne) Stoneburgh, Robin (Tim) and Heather (Stephen) Dean; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by mother, Carol and biological mother, Nancy.
