BIBBER, FRED – Of Grand Blanc, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Dan Morrison officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Monday June 16, 2025, and 11 am Tuesday, June 17, 2025, till the time of service.
Contributions can be made to Tunnels to Towers.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Born on September 14, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Fred lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, faith, and a deep love for his family and friends. He served honorably in the United States Air Force before embarking on a varied and successful career as a dental hygienist, real estate agent, and manager and salesman for John Deere.
Fred was a true outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, and the natural world. He also had a musical side, often delighting others with his talent on the electric guitar. Fred was known for his big heart, infectious storytelling, and ability to make friends wherever he went.
A man of strong faith, Fred gave his heart to the Lord and, from that moment on, lived with an unwavering, unconditional love that touched everyone around him. His kindness, strength, and example of God’s love left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Fred is survived by his loving sister Rose and her husband Jim Book; his daughter Lisa and her husband Darren Dawson; his step-son John and wife Karen Doering; and his step-daughter Angela and husband James Herbst. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Della D. Wilcox and Robert Otto Bibber; his wife, Linda Bibber, his sister Maxine Minnie Williams; his brother Robert Otto Bibber; and his son, Ray A. Bibber.
Fred lived a large, wholehearted life. He will be remembered for his faith, his stories, his laughter, and his ability to love deeply and freely.
