Neysa Lea French, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026, surrounded by family and friends, following a series of significant health challenges.

A Celebration of Life honoring Neysa will be held on October 22, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home at 1225 West Hill Rd. Flint, MI. The date holds special significance, as it would have been Neysa’s 59th birthday.

Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of her service to the United States Marine Corps.

Born in Flint, Michigan, Neysa grew up in Grand Blanc, where she attended elementary and high school. Her love of music and theater began at an early age. It was not uncommon to find Neysa wandering around the house singing into a makeshift microphone, with a kitchen dish towel perched on her head as a wig. Her playful spirit and love of performing were evident from the very beginning.

Following high school, Neysa enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving at the rank of Lance Corporal while stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. During her service, she received several recognitions, including a Certificate of Appreciation, the Sharpshooter Rifle Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. She often shared stories of her love for California and the memorable antics of the friends she made along the way.

After completing her military service, Neysa spent several years working as an underwriter in the mortgage services industry.

Neysa is survived by her sister, Nicole Rackov, and her aunt, Sharyn Wilson, who remained an important part of her life, along with extended family and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Giacalone, and her cousin, Selena Younce.

Neysa will be remembered for her love of music and theater, her playful sense of humor, and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know and love her. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives she touched.
