WOLF, John J.
of Bay City, Michigan. Age 94 years, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Health Source of Saginaw. He was born to Hubert and Veronica (Borcierskowski) Wolf on April 17, 1916 in Dusseldorf, Germany and resided in Bay City most of his life. He was a graduate of Bay City Central High School, class of 1934. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and honorably and faithfully served our country in the 32nd M.P. Co. during WWII. Before his retirement in 1978, he delivered milk for McDonald Dairy for forty-two years. John was a former member of St. Hyacinth Parish, and current member of Knights of Columbus St. Stephen Council 4102, P.L.A.V. Post 162, V.F.W. Post 485, D.A.V. Chapter 9, and American Legion Post 18. In his early years, he was active in semi pro play with the Bay City All Stars and was inducted into the Catholic Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 and was also a life member of Bay County Sports Hall of Fame.

On August 27, 1948, John married Romaine F. Lukowski and she preceded him in death July 5, 1980. Surviving family members include three daughters, Judith Krueger of Saginaw, Barbara (Kevin) LeRoux of Key West, FL, and Michelle Wolf of AZ; five grandchildren, Jill A. and Jacqueline R. Krueger, Suzie (Jeff) Herold, Kellie LeRoux, and Lauren P. Hibner; his brother, Robert Wolf of Evanston, IL; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Wolf and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Rev. Michael Wolf and Herman & Mary Wolf.

The funeral service (including the Committal Rite) will be Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ronald F. Wagner will preside, with Military Rites by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. For those who so desire, contributions may be directed to P.L.A.V. Dept. of MI Scholarship Fund in John’s memory. Visiting hours are Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with the P.L.A.V. #162 memorial service at 6:45 PM and the K. of C. #4102 Bible Presentation at 7:00 PM in the Trahan Chapel, where there will be visitation again Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
