VARNER, Barbara – of Flint, age 77, passed away May 2, 2015 at her residence following a brief battle with cancer. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Jon Grimshaw officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Wednesday and 9-10 AM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Barbara was born in Flint, MI on September 29, 1937, daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Fuzi) Liquia. She married Mark Varner on March 3, 1962 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1996. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. She retired from AC Spark Plug.
Barbara is survived by her children, Wayne (Angie), Christine (Gerald) DeMott, Steven (Amy), Michael and Timothy; granddaughter (daughter), Andria (Brian); grandchildren, Jennifer, Tia (Brian), Bradley, Mallory, Cameron, Matthew, Sethan and Kenny; great-grandchildren, Stephanie (Ashton), Autumn, Shawna, Alexis, Ronald, Andrew, Brooklynn, Abigail, Lily and Sadie; great-great-grandsons, Logan and Luke; sisters, Geraldine (DeWayne), Sandy (Harvey) and Kathy (Howard); brothers-in-law, Tom and Slug (Joyce); many special friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sheri; sister, Ruth; niece, Jane; nephew, Jason and sister-in-law Sharon. The family would like to thank Jennifer, Andria and Shawna. Because of their selfless effort and devoted care, Barbara was able to pass away at her home of 51 years. Also, a special thank you to McLaren Hospice of Davison.
