Vincent Chester Bandurski was born in Flint, Michigan on August 3, 1941, to Helen Wanda Bandurski Bysko and Chester Bandurski. He recently passed away at the age of 84 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. In accordance with his wishes a private service was held for immediate family members at St. Mark the Evangelist, followed by a burial at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Vince married his wife, Marilyn Galipeau, at Holy Family Catholic Church and they resided in Grand Blanc where they raised their four children.
He started his 44-year career with General Motors (GM) as a General Motors Institute (GMI) Engineering Co-op Student at Buick Motor Division. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from GMI and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University. He remained at Buick for 20 years before transferring to the GM Technical Center in 1979. He retired in 2003 as GM Executive Director of Product Development and Design.
Throughout his life he was active in his community including the Engineering Society of Detroit, Buick Salaried Retirees Club, GM Executive Alumni Club of Michigan, Kettering University (formerly GMI) Alumni Board, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the Grand Blanc Township Planning Commission.
Vince will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn; their four children Karilyn (Mike) Perry, Gary (Christine) Bandurski, Anne (Thomas) Britt and Andrew (Emily) Bandurski; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. |
