Mr. Richard D. Rice “Dick”, age 83, died peacefully in the early morning hours of April 4, 2018. Dick was born on November 30, 1934 to Michael and Blanche Rice on their family farm in Harrisville MI. He was a beloved husband to Marie for 63 years. He was a dear father to Linda (Lynn) Welch, Ann (Hal) Rockman and Cynthia Rice. He was Grandpa to Raymond Talbot, Robert Talbot, Jessica Rockman, Jasmin Rodriguez and Rachel Welch. He also leaves 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dick loved the outdoors and spent many years golfing, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed rock collecting, riding his bike, walking the woods and beaches and bird watching. Dick was an avid bowler, bowling most of his life until last year where he had been in two leagues at Fenton Lanes. He spent 2 years in the Army, 30 years at General Motors and 8 years at Shively Brothers before finally retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert Allen, his siblings Doris Hayden, Freda Hompstead, William Rice and John (Jack) Rice. A memorial service will be held May 19th, 2018, at 11:30am, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Gaines.Share memories at temrowskifamilyfuneralhome.com.
