Mrohs, James C. of Grayling, age 77, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Northern Pines Assisted Living. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Rossell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. Private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on December 8, 1938, the son of Maynard and Dorothy (Telliga) Mrohs. Jim spent his childhood on Covert Rd. in Burton where he enjoyed ice skating on his backyard pond and playing in a neighborhood band on Mrohs back porch and at school events. He was a 1957 graduate of Kearsley Agricultural School, attended Mott Community College, and entered the United States Air Force, where he studied electronics which later became his career. Jim worked for Philco/Ford Motor Company, taking him to Italy; White Sands Proving Ground in New Mexico; NASA in Houston, Texas; then settled into his condo in Schaumberg, IL to work nearby on electronic repair. He later moved to Roscommon to be near his brother, John and was a resident of Northern Pines Assisted Living in Grayling.
James is survived by his nieces, Lisa, Lenae (Jim), Luann(Roland); great-nieces, Megan (Michael), Alyssa (Ryan); great-nephews, Chase, Hunter, and Roland III; great-great-nieces, Abigail and Emma; great-great-nephew, Jeremiah; and sister-in-law, Maureen Mrohs. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John. |
