SORENSEN, Denton F. – of Flint, age 75, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at McLaren Regional Medical Center of Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Denton’s Life will be held at 1PM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at West Vienna United Methodist Church. 5485 W. Wilson Rd., in Clio. Pastor Billie Lou Gillespie and Rev. Mel Leach officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 12PM until the time of celebration at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to West Vienna United Methodist Church.
Denton was born September 23, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to the late Frank and Lois (Hensey) Sorensen. He graduated from Atherton High School in 1960 and later attended Michigan State University. Denton married Sandra Philp on March 21, 1964 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Flint. He owned and operated Loranger Tractor Sales in Clio for over 20 years. Denton was a member of West Vienna United Methodist Church and also attended The Watermark Church in Flushing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and singing. Above all, Denton loved his family and was very loving and devoted. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are: Wife, Sandra Sorensen; Children: Tim Sorensen, Brian (Gina) Sorensen, Stacey (Keith) Robinson, Amy Sorensen, and Michelle (Mike) Ruhlig; 6 grandchildren: Timothy (Tiffany) Sorensen, Cassie (Ryan) Terrillion, Andrew Lester, Michael (Ashley) Lester, Kaylee Lester, and Dillion VanBuren; Many great grandchildren; Sister, Kay (Fred) Beaulieu; Special friend, Rev. Mel Leach; Many other loving family members and friends. Denton was also preceded in death by his brother, Dan Sorensen, and sister, Sharon Daoust.
