HAYES, James T. – of Montrose, age 81, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose with military honors. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12Noon until time of services at 4 PM. Contributions may be made to the Montrose American Legion.
Jim was born February 13, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Jennet Hayes. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Cynthia McNiel on February 26, 1955 in Angola, IN and resided in Montrose most of his life. Mr. Hayes retired from Fisher Body Grand Blanc in 1993 with 30 years seniority. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, Montrose American Legion Post #367 and the UAW Local #1292. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing, watching John Wayne Westerns and NASCAR.
Surviving are: Wife, Cindy; Daughters: Lorrie Schmidt of Saginaw, Marlo Hayes of TX, Robin Hayes of Westland; 2 Grandchildren: Tyler (Erin) Hayes, Alyssa Dewar; Sister-in-law, Betty Hayes of MD; several nieces and nephews.
