PEACE, Donald – Of Grand Blanc, age 89, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 20 2026 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Donald was born in Holly, Michigan on November 1, 1936, the son of the late Freeman and Vivian Peace.
He was married to Vera, his beloved wife of 53 years.
He led a fulfilling life. Donald and Vera split their time in Kalkaska and Alabama.
After they retired, they moved to Alabama, where they opened several Pennzoil Oil changing businesses. Because of his love for NASCAR racing, he was able to sponsor a race car through Pennzoil Oil. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He was employed as Superintendent of Quality Control at AC Spark Plug.
Surviving are daughters, Terri Peace, Lee Ann Powell, Cherrie Beard;
sons, George (Amy) Ebel
daughter-in-law, Linda Ebel;
sisters Carol (Maurice) and Bonnie (Tom) Pugel and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Vera in 2019, son, Michael Ebel in 2023.
