Susan Mary DeLosh (Ahern)
Age 83 (1937-2020)
“One of the Lucky Ones” as self-proclaimed by Sue. Married over 60 years to her high school sweetheart, Donald DeLosh, Sue passed away peacefully on April 22, 2020 with her husband and four children at her side.
Humble, content, creative, and a caring grandmother to nine grandchildren, Sue approached life with a sense of fairness and open-mindedness. She enjoyed the simpler things in life, family time, vacationing, casinos, weekly card games with the gals and her “four o’clock Budweiser”. Sue had a flare for planning and hosting parties, vacations, themed events, and the annual Christmas Eve celebrations. She created so many fun times and great memories!
Sue attended St. Michael’s High School (1955), and Eastern Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Education. While teaching in the Flint area, she touched the lives of many. She was one of the initial co-directors of Children’s Garden Preschool with Grand Blanc Schools.
Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Alice Ahern, she will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald DeLosh of Fenton, MI, and 4 children, Lynn (Rob) Spaly of Grand Blanc, MI, Jeff (Donna) DeLosh of Plymouth, MI, Ken (Renee) DeLosh of Wayzata, MN, and Katie (Mike) Mulligan of Alpharetta, GA, nine grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Spaly of Frisco, CO, Jason Spaly of Denver, CO, Jacob DeLosh of Grand Rapids, MI, Sydney DeLosh of Chicago, IL, Jack DeLosh of Denver, CO, Sam DeLosh of Cairns, Australia, Brady, Meghan, and Sean Mulligan of Alpharetta, GA, and sister Joanne Sukany of Fenton, MI.
A funeral Mass and life celebration will take place this summer at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton, MI. A special thank you to the caring staff at Ascension at Home Hospice of Grand Blanc.
Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
