SAVOIE, Peter A. age 91, of Fenton, MI died February 22, 2026. Pete was born on January 2, 1935 in Sault Ste. Marie MI to his late parents Edmond and Lucienne Savoie. The youngest of 11 children, Pete grew up on the family farm in Dryberg, MI and graduated from Loretto Catholic High School in 1952. He attended Michigan College of Mining and Technology prior to serving for two years in the US Marine Corps. Pete became a Journeyman Diemaker at General Motors in Flint, MI and enjoyed a long career as a Skilled Trades leader at General Motors, retiring in 1992. Pete married the love of his life Patricia Louise (Page) Savoie in 1957 in Grand Blanc, MI and moved his young and growing family to Fenton, MI in 1962. Pete and Patti were actively involved in St. John Parish of Fenton and Worldwide Marriage Encounter. Pete was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years; and enjoyed all types of home projects, family camping trips, golf, and travel. Pete will always be remembered as a faith-filled, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He always had a good story and a smile! Pete is survived by his children Michael (Martha Ann) Savoie, Laura (Tom) Starrs, Stephen (Sandra) Savoie, Elizabeth (Michael) Sage, and Michelle (Scott) Cairnduff along with thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his sister Sr. Mary Savoie. In addition to his parents, Pete was proceeded in death by Patti in 1998; his son Todd and grandson Adam; and nine of his siblings. A Celebration of Life Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Chapel of Holy Innocents at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. Mark Inglot celebrant. Burial immediately following in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026 until the time of the Mass. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Pete’s friends and the staff at StoryPoint Assisted Living in Fenton as well as McLaren Hospital and Residential Hospice for their friendship and loving care.
