ROWLEY (OERTEL), Glenda – Of Grand Blanc, age 79, peacefully passed on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, after a very brief illness.
Glenda and her husband, Bill of 58 years, built a beautiful life together.
Glenda’s family and her role as wife, mother and grandma meant the world to her.
her family was so blessed that she dedicated her whole life to them.
They could not have had a better role model. They would turn to her in times of trouble because she knew how to keep you feeling supported and loved.
She could always help you find the bright spot in anything.
Glenda loved the Christmas season. It was evident in the way she spent weeks decorating, baking and wrapping beautiful presents for the ones she loved most.
She enjoyed her Hallmark movies, reading, shopping, sharing old stories with her grandkids and beautiful flowers, which Bill made sure she always had.
Glenda never met a stranger! She could walk in a room and strike up a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed sharing her gum (but only ½ a stick at a time).
She will be remembered for her kind loving heart, her fun sense of humor, her baby blue eyes and her warm, warm smile!
She leaves her beautiful family to cherish her memory.
Love of her life, Bill;
first born and best friend, Roxanne (Mike) Howells;
twin daughters, Anne (Jim) Butcher, Amy (Vern) Miller and loving son, Russ (Lynn) Rowley;
the loves of her life, her grandbabies, Jake, Joe, Nathan Sarah, Ryan, Adam, Ben, Tyler, Lindsay Morgan and Nick;
grandest grandbabies, Lincoln and Bodey;
best friends, Dan and MaryKay Scott;
special niece, Patricia Flanery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary, late son-in-law, Jerry; sisters, Barbara and Georgie; brother, Chuck; nephew, Bryan; mother-in-law, Leora; many other special relatives and friends.
The family will have private celebration of life in July to honor Glenda and her life well lived.
