Floyd Everett Klauka, a cherished pillar of Columbiaville, was called to his heavenly home on October 9, 2025. Born on January 28, 1939, Floyd's journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a commitment to service that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Floyd's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Shirley, and a guiding light to his children, Connie (Scott) Barnes, Floyd Jr. "Skip," Margaret (Joseph) Harding, Robert Howe, Blair Howe, Troy (Cheri) Howe, and Melissa (Butch) Bortle. His legacy continues to flourish through his eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as the numerous nieces and nephews who were blessed to know him. Though he now joins his parents, Everett and Elsie Klauka, and siblings James, Clyde, Rosalee, and Larry, his spirit remains a beacon of love and family unity.
Throughout his life, Floyd was a steadfast member of the Hillside Discipleship Church, where his faith-filled presence was a source of inspiration and comfort. As Past President of the Columbiaville Historical Society and a dedicated member of the Columbiaville Rotary Club, he worked tirelessly to preserve the history and enhance the community he held so dear. Floyd's passion for service was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman, and hiker, he found joy and peace in the beauty of God's creation, often sharing this love with others by maintaining the beauty of his yard and the town he called home. Floyd served his county Honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Those who knew Floyd would describe him as a man of great interest and thoughtfulness. His conversations were never without depth, and his advice was always sought after for its wisdom and sincerity. He lived his life as an embodiment of the words of the Apostle Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)
