GOODROE, Eugene W. – of Davison, age 86, passed peacefully on April 1, 2015 while under hospice care in his Davison, MI home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison: Rev. David Jordan officiating. Visitation will be 12-3 PM and 5-8 PM Friday and 10-11 AM Saturday.
Eugene was born in Deep River Township, Arenac County, MI on May 16, 1928, son of the late Glenn A. and Lorraine D. Goodroe. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the latter 1940’s. Eugene was a millwright by trade; he retired from the former Buick City in Flint after 30 years of service. Eugene was an avid golfer and was active in Flint Junior Golf and as a Marshall at the Buick Open for over 20 years.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pearl; sons, David (Kim) Jordan, Frank Goodroe; daughters, Sherry (Don) Campbell, Mary Ann (Dennis) Valley; dearly loved grandchildren David (Jennifer) Farner, David and Daniel Jordan, Erica (Paul) Huddas, Tiffany and Nichole Schack; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Liam, and Madelyn; siblings, Lorraine Archambeau, Eve Fisher, Hazel (James) White, Kathy (Dwight) Dehner: sister-in-law, Betty Goodroe; brother-in-law, Nick Owen He was preceded in death by his brother Tom Goodroe; sister, Lee Owen; brother-in-law, Glen Archambeau. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the outstanding, caring support of the hospice nurses and volunteers.
