HOWELL, Charles L. – of Millington, age 87, passed away on May 3, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center St., Otisville, MI 48463. Fr. Kenneth F. Coughlin celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will take place at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. The Otisville Lions Club will have a prayer at 6:30 PM. Immediately following the Lions Club prayer a Rosary will be prayed, concluding with a Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #4090. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otisville Food Pantry.
Chuck was born in Pontiac, MI on May 7, 1937, son of the late Charles and Eva (Kennedy) Howell. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. Chuck married Ethel Lanford on July 3, 1964, they spent the next 60 beautiful years together before she preceded him in death on October 29, 2024. Chuck worked and retired from GM in 2000 after 40 years of dedicated service. While his children were in school, he was very active with the Lakeville School District. He was a member of the Otisville Lions Club. Chuck also enjoyed participating in various bowling leagues throughout the years. His faith was very important to him. He was an active member at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville where he belonged to the Men’s Club, worked at their Food Pantry, was an usher and did various maintenance around the church. Chuck was also a member of the Davison Knights of Columbus, Council 4090. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren will forever remember him for cracking jokes and “carrying on”.
Chuck is survived by his children, Charles (Pam) Howell, Marie (Rick) Konieczka and Lynn (Bill) Churchill; grandchildren, Mary (Tom) LaLonde, Kyle Konieczka, Mandy (Adam) Stewart, Courtney (Bryan) McDonald, Brianna, Chase and Parker Churchill; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Blake, Cole, Skylar, Gracie and Wyatt; brother, Edward (Nancy) Howell; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ethel; his parents Charles and Eva Howell;
In-laws, James Lanford and Mary Braden; brothers-in-law, James “Ed” (Irene) Lanford, Charles Lanford, Henry Lanford; sister-in-law, Elaine Coates.
