Kendra Darlene Fowler, born on August 13, 1950, in Pontiac, MI, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI, at the age of 75. Kendra's heart was a source of warmth and kindness that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kendra's journey began in Walled Lake, where she graduated from Walled Lake Central High School in 1968. She soon received her cosmetology degree, a testament to her creativity and passion for beauty. For an impressive thirty years, she dedicated herself to her work at Wixom Mac Valves, where she was both respected and admired for her skills and dedication.
Outside of her career, Kendra embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She had a special fondness for family gatherings, which were not just events, but heartfelt celebrations filled with laughter, connection, and love. Her dogs were very special to her, and she loved them immensely. Her hobbies reflected her creative spirit; she enjoyed shopping, especially for jewelry. Kendra had a passion for cooking, gardening, flowers, elephants, Betty Bop, road trips, and any garage sales along the way.
Married to Kenneth "Rick" Fowler on September 27, 1969, Kendra shared a bond of love and partnership that served as an inspiration to their family and friends. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and laughter, residing in Howell, MI, for 27 wonderful years, formerly of Walled Lake.
Kendra is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Kenneth “Rick” Fowler, her daughter, Michelle (David Jr.) Ellison, and son, Ritchey (Michele) Fowler. She was a proud grandmother to Katelin, Justine, Randall, Teegin, Jakob, and Noah, and a delighted great-grandmother to Liam and Colton. Her siblings—Connie Hall, Ronnie (Delphine) Dorman, Barry Dorman, and Cindy (Bob) Short—will hold her memories close, as will her many nieces and nephews who adored her deeply.
Kendra was predeceased by her loving parents, Ralph and Doris (Wells) Dorman.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Kevin White will officiate. Burial will be at Mills Township Cemetery in Prescott, MI.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
Kendra will be missed dearly but will live on in the love she fostered, the memories she created, and the lives she influenced in her all-too-short time on this earth.
