Amy Jean Hoard (Pekarek), a resident of Clinton Township, MI (long time resident of Grand Blanc, MI) passed away on January 2, 2026.
Jean, the name she used, was a dedicated candy striper at Genesys Medical Center and a member of the Marv Herzog Polka Boosters. She was an enthusiastic participant in the Czech community dancing events, both locally and across different states. Proud of her Czech heritage, Jean embraced her cultural roots.
Jean cherished her time in the sun and water; and she had a special place in her heart for Pentwater, MI. Later in life she also loved to travel to California and yearly to Mexico.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory her children: Lisa (Ed) Jacques of Clinton Township, MI, David Hoard of Phoenix, AZ, and Scott Hoard of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren Donald Gratsch of Detroit, MI and Tyler Gratsch of Clinton Township, MI; and sister Susan Pekarek of Owosso, MI.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond, her parents Peter and Amy (Stasa) Pekarek and brother James Pekarek.
In lieu of flowers, Jean would love for you to do a random act of kindness in her memory.
A visitation for Amy will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. |
